The cranes return

It's not spring but a sign that the year is beginning to re-awake after the slumber of winter. Today I heard the sound of hundreds of cranes circling over our house in the migration north. After, what seemed like an animated debate they re-assembled and flew north in a perfect V formation.
It is only six weeks since they went south and here they are on their way north again. Soon other signs of spring or at least the end of winter will appear with the emergence of the daffodils. And next week we are forecast cold and perhaps snow!
