There can' t be too many English who are married in small French Villages. On Saturday at the Mairie in Hiesse two of the select few were married by the Mayor, M. Gilbert Quesne in the presence of the secretary to the commune Pattricia ? (Sorry surname not known, drop me a line)
Who were these adventurous English? They were Annie and Alan Wright who have lived in Hiesse for a couple of years. They are well known in the motor cycle fraternity, participating in the regular motorbike runs. They were showered in the traditional manner on leaving the Mairie
After the ceremony we all retired to the bar to drink champagne and/or beer and watch the France Italy rugby match. The French present were not too impressed with the result.
