Not so many years ago a comuter and a connection to the internet were regarded as exotic and for others. Today they are common place with over 60% of the French population having not only a computer but access to the internet in some form or other. This gives rise to the associated problems of how does one get support and what happens when things do wrong.
I am not going to answer the first question but can give a reply to the second. There are a number of small businesses in the area providing repair services for computers and I went to me one of them, Mr. Crespin of Pleuville.
Mr Crespin lives at Le grand Mallard near Pleuville where he also has his workshop and sales point. Le Grand Mallard is not easy to find, one has to take the road from Pleuville to the right hand side of the War Memorial and continue until the dead end (see map), then turn left down the track until you reach the sign on the gate post that says Chemin de Bonheur, in front is the barn in which Mr Crespin has his workshop.
He is a qualified electronics engineer having served in the French Navy in this capacity. He now, only, makes and repairs computers.
In his workshop he has the notice that his standard charge is 30 euros for a repair, which is very reasonable. Whilst he is not repairing computers he makes them to order selling a near silent desktop top computing unit. He also sells other items associated with computers, such as printers and carrying cases.
He is open from 9 until 12 then 14 until 19 each day, Tuesdays to Saturdays. Mondays is reserved for gardening.
You can contact him at his email or by phone on 05 45 89 63 01
