On Wednesday 11th May, two members of the Royal British Legion arrive in our area to take part in a1000  kilometre cycle ride to visit the 57 cemeteries in the Charente area which house British military graves.  They are leaving Charroux at 11am, arriving in Hiesse at 12 ish.  They hope to meet the Mayor of each village for photographs, etc., a swift repas and on to Brillac and the next cemetery containing a Commonwealth war grave.

One of the cyclists is doing the whole 1000 kms. As they pass through each area they will be joined by a "buddy".  In Hiesse the buddy will be David Blick.  He is not in the first flush of youth but regularly rides from London to Paris.
